As House Bill 4714 (2013) was rapidly transitioning from "read a second time" to "substitute H-3 adopted and amended" to "placed on third reading" to "read a third time" to "placed on immediate passage" to "passed; given immediate effect" . . . yes, transitioning just that quickly (the proof starts on page 24 of House Journal # 59) . . . I was in conversation with, among others, Dara Bailey (Vice President & National Vetting Director of iCaucus National). She offered to commit national resources to help the liberty-minded network in Michigan do what needs to be done to visit political punishment on every single legislative turncoat next summer. All that we need to do as a statewide movement is to use Joanie's screencap of 2013 House Roll Call # 241 as a motivator to set aside our nationally infamous internecine squabbling, and work as a cohesive machine toward a larger goal.
Any of you been keeping an eye on some of the sneaky tax/fee hikes happening in Lansing?
HB 4665: Eileen Kowall-r - to extend the "temporary" 71.4% tipping fee hike from 2011 = PASSED by House MI-GOP (Thank you for your lone Republican NO vote, Rep. Nesbitt)
HB 4668: Jon Bumstead-r - Hunting and Fishing tax hike... 106.6% increase for resident deer license, and basic fishing license 73.3% increase = unanimously PASSED by House MI-GOP
HB 4669: Jon Bumstead-r - annual ORV sticker 61.5% tax hike, and if wanting to use state trails, make it a 123% tax hike = unanimously PASSED by House MI-GOP
Seriously, what the Hell is the point of voting Republican? Just so one can say they didn't vote Democrat? That's real intelligent. I'm tellin' ya, the Republican Majority in Lansing, are Professional Grade Bandits. No bullsh!t.

Wait for it... because it's the right thing to do.
I am not going to get out of the fight, but damn, I sure have felt like it recently.
The Democrat party has been lost for some time to the progressive freak show that carries a disconnect about its intent and actions. While griping about money in elections by big corporations, it calls out for bigger government that attracts such mechanisms. While it decries the high cost of insurance and medical care, it uses the tools of government to discourage entry into the field of medicine, thus raising the cost. While promising no mouth goes unfed, it has provided a trough that keeps the hands associated with those mouths idle and unproductive so they cannot feed themselves. Constantly the 'civil rights' violations, through our social compacts, are heralded as wrong, yet murdering of those who can least defend themselves is their rallying action. And at the same time that its activists want us out of their bedrooms, they put their genitalia in our faces and into our school programming.
Its a bizarro world.
Its a strange place and time, and I don't recognize my country or state any longer. When the lies become the truth, and the truth is decried as meaningless, and a (very unhealthy)gun is put to our heads, so that someone who has made poor choices with regard to their own health care might be made better.
But it didn't hurt so much until the last 2 decades, and the damage was somewhat limited until the Republicans allowed it to become mainstream.
It's by now quite obvious that there are wayyy too many people occupying either publicly-elected office or party-elected internal office that still don't understand a key concept of the liberty movement, grassroots conservatives, and tea party network (committed to principled cause first, and loyal to a political party only to the extent that the party serves the purpose of the cause). The arm-twisting associated with the passage in the House of 2013 House Bill 4111 (which still sits "on the table" in the Senate, according to Thursday's calendar), and the heavy-handed bifarceisanship and lobbyist nonsense that we're seeing leveraged in an attempt to accomplish the passage of 2013 House Bill 4714, (which, as of Thursday's House calendar, has been reported to the House floor for a second reading) seems to indicate that some politician paper training is still in order.
