Obama "grateful" for Kwame (unless this "isn't the Kwame Kilpatrick" he's known)By Nick, Section Multimedia
(Note: You can continue to follow Dennis, live from the halls of Congress via his LiveBlog below...)
So Kwame's going to jail, huh? How long, do you figure, before Barack Obama tells us that this is "not the Kwame Kilpatrick I know?" From the sounds of these remarks (delivered last May to the Detroit Economic Club) the Barackstar might have to do some back-peddling and soon.
You can check out the entire speech and the Democratic Mayor of Detroit's fawning introduction of the Democratic POTUS nominee HERE. Interestingly, it sounds like Kilpatrick is an awfully frequent Obama fundraiser too. If Obama does denounce Kilpatrick he'll be among the first. Unfortunately it seems like Democrats everywhere are more than willing to turn a blind eye to criminality and lawbreaking... assuming the offender carries a DNC membership card. Will Obama do the right thing or should we expect the same old partisan politics? Text of Obama's tribute to Kwame below:

As it turns out, the T Boone plan does keep money at home -- but not our home. His advocacy of the "Pickens Plan" kinda gives us a whole new meaning to "follow the green", and it has little to do with windmills.

This video was developed in part because while scores of other districts in Michigan have bargained agreements by compromising within the fiscal realities of each district, the case in Grand Rapids, on the other hand, has been quite different. As the film points out, the public fight began when the union president proclaimed, "We are at war."

H/T the good folks at RedState.
Since NAFTA and CAFTA gave us the SHAFTA and since they're entirely responsible for Michigan's 8.5% unemployment rate and since without NAFTA Electrolux would still be in west Michigan, not Mexico and since free trade is the reason Alticor created 400 Michigan jobs to support an entry into the Chinese marketplace but nobody likes 400 jobs if you have to think about the word China and since NAFTA is allegedly the reason that a handful of the 7 million jobs the nation added in the last five years only pay $10 an hour... well... Michigan lefties, especially Jennifer Granholm, were pretty giddy when their Presidential nominee said THIS in late February (of this year):
Oops. Guess he didn't really mean it. Yesterday morning, former member of the liberal media and now official Obama campaign staffer Linda Douglas:
Not the kind of CHANGE I was HOPING for. What about you, Madame Governor? Aaaaand the official "that's-not-the-Linda-Douglas-I-knew" watch begins. Over under is three days before she's fired.
