Why no apparent attempt to stop building of new State Police Headquarters?

It woud seem that with all of the trauma over the state budget that the fact that a new State Police Headquarters is being built with no bids being sought except the one accepted by Gov. Granhold that there would be an outcry of people who feel this is just one more insult to the people of Michigan who are paying for yet another
item that could well be placed on the back burner until the state is in a more stable position.

This is why our taxes went up in the first place and why our legislators do what they want, not what the people want; simply not enough people are willing to take the time from their self centered worlds and take their legislators to task for the things they do or the things they don't do.

And sometimes our legislators won't do anything even when the majority wants them to. I have tried on this issue, really tried, but as long as Granholm has Cox in her pocket, nothing will get done no matter what the people want because the states top law enforcement officer (Cox) is with the governor on this issue. Shame.

I did contact my senator's office and I posted the email response I got on my web site. Basically, Garcia is frustrated, but in the email there is no statement as to what he is doing to stop the governor.

    Garcia's office reply

We need to set a fire under the collective butts of the Republicans of Michigan and make them see that they really can, if they just take the time, fight city hall and have their one vote really make a difference,

What would you have Mike Cox, Attorney General do?

He's not a legislator.  He's not a project manager.  He's there to make sure the laws are legal, prosecute law breakers and defend the state in lawsuits.

What exactly would you have him do to stop the State Police HQ?

It's a campaign contributor, not a family member.

Granholm said this is all Englers fault.  He signed the papers, worked the deal and made the deal.  Two words Frank Beckman!
