    Another one Jumps ship:

Mary Lannoye is stepping down as Gov. Jennifer Granholm's chief of staff. Lannoye took the job in January.

She was the state budget director in Granholm's first term and held the same job under Granholm's predecessor, John Engler.

Lannoye was Granholm's longest-serving Cabinet member.

Granholm spokeswoman Liz Boyd said Lannoye, 51, plans to take some time off before she decides what to do next.

A replacement for Lannoye will be named later.

Blood in the water, folks.  Keep your ears peeled for anything that sounds like "illegal activity" or something else improper that might have happened.
