Gary Peters slams door on students

    (Promoted by Nick... just unbelievable...)

    Cross-posted at The Peters Report

As a temporary assistant professor of political science at Central Michigan University, Democratic congressional candidate Gary Peters is expected to maintain office hours, making himself available to students.

According to the Political Science Department, Peters is available every Monday from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. in his Anspach Hall office. But this wasn't the case on Monday because he was moderating a forum with two former members of Congress, which didn't end until nearly 5 p.m.

The Peters Report followed him from the forum to his office, where he arrived alongside College Democrats adviser and political science professor Joyce Baugh at 4:55 p.m.

We tried asking him about office hours, but he slammed the door in our face so he could have a strategy meeting with his political handlers.

Could you cross-post this at OaklandPolitics.com AND OutsideLansing.com, with a note that you are submitting it to our original journalism contest, which is a $100 scholarship.  Right now its the leader of the pack, but to qualify you must submit it.

SFE (students for free economy?) (linked on my resources bar on the right) is also offering a $1000 writing award for students.  Although you'd need something deeper, and probably "published," I think your headed down a road here that could produce something for that.  There are a few other contests too for even larger amounts but I'd have to dig up some old e-mails and this may not qualify.
