I seem to remember another group that just thought it would be wise to print money and hand it out. It was Post WWI Germany. While Michigan cannot do the same the mentality fits. Just as Germany thought they could print off more money and use it to pay off their debts, it seems that those in Lansing can do the same. Spend money that they don't have and act like it is there.

    Federal Reserve (none / 0) (#4)

why does this come as a surprise?  it's almost as if people have never heard of the federal reserve.  they print money all the time out of thin air.  that's why the value of our dollar continues to plummet.  in fact they just bailed the banks out by purchasing $38 billion in mortgage debt with counterfeit money.  good for banks, bad for us.

even scrooge mcduck understood the danger in printing money out of thin air.
