    Gary Peters formally declares

Lottery Commissioner and soon-to-be Central Michigan University professor Gary Peters proved he doesn't care about educating students when he announced his congressional campaign on Tuesday morning.

Peters, the incoming Griffin chairman in American government, said he will be a "strong voice" for families, but apparently forgot about the families whose kids attend CMU.

Instead of devoting himself to teaching Michigan politics this fall, Peters has decided to spend time schmooze with special interests while he campaigns against U.S. Rep. Joe Knollenberg (R-Oakland County).

Peters signed a three-year contract with CMU in April. As a professor, he will earn $65,000-a-year and taxpayer-funded perks for teaching once a week.

He's only using CMU to pay his bills while he campaigns for Congress.

Glad to see education remains a priority of the left.

    Thanks for the update.

Where do I sign up for one of those cushy jobs?  65K a year for one day a week, WITH BENEFITS!  Man, I'd say he sure is taking joe six pack to the cleaners.  No wonder our state is in the mess it's in.

the $65,000 from the 5% increase that she wants to give all the universities (which she cant afford)?  For every student who wonders why tuition is going so high, here is reason #1.

Does anyone know what his teaching contract (1.00 / 1) (#4)

requires him to do as far as office hours and classroom time or are you all just making it up?

do you know the terms of the contract to say that he's getting paid $65,000 to teach 3 hours per week? Or are you just making it up?

outlines his other responsibilities including office hours, etc. So the person claiming he's earning $65,000 for three hours work needs to back that up since there's evidence to the contrary showing that they are wrong.
