(Promoted by Nick... WOW! If anything was ever a testament to the potential of the blogosphere THIS certainly is... but more importantly, it's a huge win for taxpayers and college students at CMU... way to go Collegian!)

Central Michigan University is planning for the departure of Democratic congressional candidate and temporary assistant professor Gary Peters at the end of this semester.

After hearing from students, alumni and taxpayers from across Michigan in recent weeks, CMU is quietly preparing for Peters to leave his position as a political science professor, sources within the Political Science Department told Students Against Gary Peters.

Peters, who is running against Republican Congressman Joe Knollenberg, was hired over former Senate Majority Leader Ken Sikkema in March, signing a three-year contract to teach students.

Students Against Gary Peters has also learned Political Science Department Chairman Del Ringquist has held numerous secret meetings in recent days with administrators to discuss the departure of Peters.

So how much of the 65k does Tiny Peters get to keep from his part-time jaunt as a teacher?
