I appreciate you taking the time to convey your opposition to the Governor's tax proposals.  We certainly face some difficult choices as a state, with an economy in transition and a growing budget shortfall.  Please know that I will do my best to work towards a solution that protects the taxpayers, while reducing spending on lower priority and ineffective programs and supporting cost-saving reforms to government.
