    Palin Rocks the Debate

    Governor Palin not only managed

to bring the debate back time and again to one of her greatest strengths, Energy Policy but a very personable Governor Palin also used Joe Biden's own words questioning the readiness of Barack Obama made before Biden joined the Obama ticket. Palin ruffled Biden's feathers and put him on the defensive a great deal of the night. Palin didn't just talk about Main St. she WAS Main St.

    Discuss.

. . . my take is primarily technical (plenty of debate experience in high school and college).

Sarah Palin seemed to not move much off the GOP talking points.  (We got the "maverick" thing on the first two passes; we didn't need the other multi-dozen.)

She seemed over-coached, over-handled, and under-prepared.  This was not the "Sarah Barracuda" that I was expecting.

She missed several easy kill shots.  For example, exactly how does rewriting the principal on a mortgage work?

Yeah, Biden did a great job of finger-pointing and making it look like Obama was running against Bush's record.  But that was to be expected.  Palin didn't do a very effective job of getting McCain out from under that shadow.

Oh, a really accurate video and transcript are available online at -- of all places -- the New York Times.
