Catching up on my reading, I caught two e-mails regarding a back-door tax hike that is making the rounds in Lansing.

    (Continued below the fold)

HB 4575 by of all people Rep DeRoche and HB 4577 by Rep. Hoon-Yung Hopgood proposed bills that are apparently a "vehicle" to jack up taxes during last days of their lame duck session.

Nothing like kicking Michigan motorists when the economy is down.

    Thoughts?

Oh joy, both those occurred on my birthday. What a present. I'm so very happy. Michigan is dead, long live Michigan. I still love this state, but this is really getting frustrating. Everytime I think I am getting ahead, ol' Mr. Taxes comes along and raises his ugly head. The only reprieve I've gotten is my vehicle insurance decreasing, and that is only due to both me and my vehicle getting older.
