So what would $8.4 million buy Detroit, besides a cover up for too cool Kwame?

    Let's look......

    • Salaries for 168 new police officers

    • Flu shots for 42,000 people

    • 247,058 tons of salt for Detroit roads

    • One year of college touition for 840 students

    • Decent used car for 840 single moms

    • Meals for 84,000 families for a week

    • Copy of "Your Cheating Heart" CD for every person in Detroit

    • Unlimited text messaging/calling plan from Verizon for 105,000 people

    Too cool Kwame stepping down....priceless.

One-year subscriptions to both the Free Press and the Detroit News for 8,000 people - but in all that pile of newsprint you still won't find an editorial board with the cajones to acknowledge the elephant in the room represented by this scandal and demand, "Resign, Mr. Mayor!"

(Go ahead Freep and News - make a liar of me. Please. The whole state is waiting . . .)

I'm also sure most Detroiters don't care what someone outside the city think. In fact, they've demonstrated convincingly over the years that they don't care about a GD thing, except maybe figuring out a new angle on how to live off others and the rest of society without really working. They clearly don't care about whether their kids succeed in school - the 75 percent dropout rate demonstrates that. They don't care about making the city a place that welcomes investors - look at the absurd protests and race-baiting that surround every new devopment that doesn't fit some micro-nativist bias.

How can you tell the ones who do care? Easy - they've left.
