Speaker Dillon's 'Beat the Recall' PlaybookBy leondrolet, Section News
We are using fraud and lies to collect signatures for the recall of Andy Dillon. And we are breaking every recall law there is. All of this widespread fraud is paid for by an extremist group from Austria. Well, actually, these kind of accusations are what Andy Dillon will tell people in his desperate effort to avoid being recalled by his own constituents for leading the legislature to hike taxes on citizens.
You see, I already know every move that Andy Dillon will make while trying to avoid being the first House Speaker in the United States to be recalled from office. I know what he is going to do before he does. How? No Nostradamus or tea leaves are necessary. Andy Dillon and Michigan Democratic Party Chair Mark Brewer are using the exact same playbook that the radical socialist organization called BAMN used to try to defeat the successful Michigan Civil Rights Initiative (MCRI) that was overwhelmingly approved by voters in 2006. So here is exactly what Andy Dillon and Mark Brewer will be doing to stop citizens legal, constitutional right to petition for, and recall, Dillon:
1. First Brewer/Dillon will use nasty, thuggish blocking tactics to intimidate potential petition signers (already being done). Dillon will immediately accuse the petitioners of being thugs
in an Orwellian attempt to create a `he-said, she-said' cover for his ugly tactics. He started last week by mailing a letter to his constituents in which he makes the outrageous claim that that the recall campaign is stalking his children. A total lie that defies logic. 2. Next Dillon/Brewer will allege that the petitioners lied, broke laws and engaged in widespread fraud to gather the signatures. Then they will shop these allegations to as many courts as they can to try and get some judge somewhere to halt the petition drive. They started this step last week when Dillon/Brewer went to Wayne County Circuit Court and asked a judge to halt the petition drive, claiming that petitioners lived outside Dillon's district (any such petitions couldn't be counted anyway). The judge refused to halt the drive, but issued an order instructing petitioners to follow the law. The judge's order is no problem because all the petition circulators are from Dillon's district, but Brewer/Dillon immediately claimed to the media that the judge's order was "proof " that the petitioners were illegal. 3. After failure to stop the petitioners with steps 1 and 2, Dillon/Brewer will begin suing the petition drive organizers as many times as they can. They probably won't wait until the signatures are submitted before beginning the lawsuits. 4. Next, Brewer/Dillon will get some legal-sounding entity to start their own kangaroo court "investigation" into the petition drive. They will make sure that this "investigation" will conclude that the petitioners are really, really bad and mean and unfair. Brewer and Governor Granholm helped BAMN by having the state's Civil Rights Commission do the kangaroo court, fake investigation into MCRI. Brewer and Dillon will need a good friend to help with this. Maybe Granholm will try to order the State Police to conclude fraud? 5. After steps 1 - 4 fail, Dillon/Brewer will resign themselves to the fact that they will actually have to campaign to try beating the recall. But Dillon/Brewer will most certainly NOT campaign on the actual issue of the petition drive - Dillon's role in hiking taxes. Instead of defending the tax hike and arguing why Dillon thought it necessary, Dillon/Brewer try to dupe voters into thinking that the recall has nothing to do with Dillon's tax hikes. Hmm, perhaps they will try to convince voters that the recall is an evil effort by greedy oil companies in cahoots with Osama bin Laden to impose Matt Millen as the new House Speaker. 6. While doing step 5 above, Dillon/Brewer will hire a Lansing-based lobbyist/communication firm run by a guy named David Waymire. Waymire will put together a big group of Lansing establishment-type organizations and politicians called `Keep Our Speaker!' Waymire will then add every public school entity, government employee union, local politician and the local high school basketball coach. This group will be used as the front for the pro-Dillon campaign. 7. Brewer/Dillon will be crushed on August 5th when citizens are not as dumb as Dillon/Brewer had hoped they were. Andy Dillon will be recalled from office by the good citizens of the 17th House district. Andy Dillon and Mark Brewer must owe BAMN something for the use of their playbook. Desperate, Dillon/Brewer have cranked up the `ugly machine' in their efforts to intimidate petitioners. Just this weekend, Dillon buddy and Redford Township Supervisor Miles (Boss Hogg) Handy ordered his police department to instruct petitioners that they are required to stop petitioning. Luckily, this has only happened once (so far). The Redford Police Department told our attorney on Sunday that the police are "just following instructions." Brewer/Dillon are employing dozens of thugs to harass and threaten petitioners every day. Sandra Eggers, a Redford citizen out collecting signatures this weekend, was followed by THREE cars full of thugs. These thugs have stalked her, ran up to doors and became confrontational when Sandra was talking to citizens about signing, and walked several houses in front of Sandra to lie to homeowners about the petition drive. Sandra was unbelievably patient and was able to explain what was happening when potential signers opened their doors. Many signed the petition. Ten days left to collect the required 8,724 signatures in what is now a political war zone. Ten days until May.
