    Top 10 Reasons to Vote in School Board Elections

    A few of you are planning to vote this week in local School Board elections being held across the state. For the rest of you (about 90%), here are my Top 10 Reasons you should vote in School Board elections.......

    1. Voter turn-out is historically low, about 5%; so parking won't be a problem.

    2. The ballot will be short.

    3. The election workers will be happy to see you.

    4. Your vote really will count.

    5. Over 30% of our State budget is spent on public education.

    6. Over 80% of the children in Michigan will be educated through the public school system.

    7. Many school boards have slipped into a coma-like state, passing teacher contracts they can't afford.

    8. The Social Progressive Agenda is being implemented in many districts unopposed.

    9. "I believe that children are our future...."

    And the number 1 reason you should vote in your local school board elections....

    It will make the MEA mad. Just find out who they endorsed and vote for the other candidate.

    Abraham Lincoln said, "The philosophy of the school house in this generation will be the philosophy of the government in the next".

    it won't make the mea mad if you vote. the mea has always been about ALL parties and citizens having a say. they haven't been the ones trying to disenfranchise teachers or calling them "thugs" for voting for candidates of their choice.

    that kind of kooky nonsense comes from the right.
