I couldnt post a comment there... here are my thoughts.

    Some folks don't get it.

It is ONE THING if the government says "you WILL believe in OUR GOD!" and quite yet another, when government "allows" the expression of those in the community it serves.

The censorship and religious promotion of Atheism is actually the issue here.  The courts will be used to promote government sponsored atheist views (IMO) against the will of the general citizenry. And BTW, I don't oppose the decision of one to choose NOT to believe, but oppose simply proselytizing their lack of faith by government edict.

As for the Dearborn Snipe:  You might feel you can paint the writer of the article as one who is intolerant, but it is in fact your type which demonstrates it's intolerance by attempting to quell other's expressions of faith in the manner they see fit. Shame on you.

    I had a problem posting as well... (none / 0) (#3)

    ...I know it's not a full moon.

    Anyway.

The city fathers in Frankenmuth, should get in contact with the city attorney in Eastpointe.

They had a similar problem several years back when some tool in the ACLU got their panties in a wad over a cross that they had in their city logo (on top of a....gasp, church, no less).

The matter was finally settled, and the cross is still there.

    What's most offensive to me (none / 0) (#4)

What's most offensive to me isn't the fact that he wanted the cross off the symbol. What is most offensive is that the pusher from this is some Bay City guy who just moved to Frankenmuth and then wants to change how they run things.

If I was a 30 year resident of Frankenmuth, my first response to this flatlander would be "Who the @%!# are you? Go home. Go back to Bay City."
