CNBC, certainly no friend to the conservative or free markets, put out their ranking today for the best states for business. Texas ranked number 1. Alaska ranked number 50. Michigan ranked number 40.

So what does CNBC have to say about our economy? In their ranking, they had a variety of categories, only one of which Michigan ranked in the top 10 - Technology and Innovation, in which they ranked 8th.

The remainder of the categories were as follows:

    Cost of Doing Business 34
    Workforce 39
    Economy 48
    Education 28
    Quality of Life 23
    Transportation 21
    Cost of Living 25
    Business Friendliness 39
    Access to Capital 24
    OVERALL  40

     ECONOMIC PROFILE
    Year of Statehood: 1837

    Governor: Jennifer M. Granholm (D)

    Population:  10,071,822

Gross State Product:  $32,846 (per capita)

    Growth Rate:  -1.2%

    Unemployment Rate:  7.2%

Major Industries: Car Manufacturing, Farming, Timber, Fishing
    --------------------------------------------------

Michigan was one of only three states that saw negative economic growth this past year, joined by Delaware and New Hampshire. Florida had no growth at all, and a small number of other states saw economic growth of less than 1%.

The vast majority of states saw economic growth of between 1.5-5.6% which, in my opinion, shows that the cries of national recession are intended to mislead the public. CNBC has no qualms about publishing this data as most Americans don't bother looking at facts, but rely on the misinformation they receive from the MSM.

There are many other factors that show that Michigan is a horrible mess that could be fixed, were we being led by a conservative executive, rather than a tax-hungry, bureaucratic-bloating governor who has done nothing but "blow us away" for 5 years now. It's only going to get worse before it gets better.

. . . again, the fact that Texas is ranked as the best climate for business makes the case for the Michigan Fair Tax Initiative.

Lean on your State Legislators (both chambers) to vote the MFTI onto the November ballot.

I had no idea that when we were told we would be "blown away' it meant the state would be the next dust bowl.
