    From Detroit News online 8/27/2008

     - "The party parties . . .  Gov. Jennifer Granholm hosted a late-night party for delegates and hangers-on at the Tavern in downtown Denver Tuesday night. The Michigan contingent snacked on chicken. . . until 2am. "

    Meanwhile, back in Michigan . . . . . unemployment jumped to 9.1% while personal income fell yet again, and Detroit was named the 1# Poorest City in the Nation.  Accepting the "Job Killer of the Year" Award for Jennifer Granholm was a shackled Major Kirkpatrick who said - we couldn't have done it without her.
