Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, remember, the Right Michigan Bloggers Challenge starts TODAY! Over the next two weeks we've got a chance to ramp things up and to take a stand for conservative principles right here in the Great Lakes State.
And on top of a better blogosphere you can win some fantastic prizes including autographed books from Newt Gingrich and Grover Norquist and a one-day guest pass to the Republican National Convention in Minnesota!
Below you'll find again the list of challenges. Most of them you can complete each day. Some of them are one-shot deals. If you've got five minutes a day (and if you're reading this, you do) you can do at least one of the challenges each day!
As you complete challenges shoot me an email at RightMichigan@gmail.com and let me know which item you've completed. Attach any related links and you're off and running.
The contest ends at 11:59 PM, August 15th. Whoever's completed the most challenges over the course of the two weeks will be the "winner," in contest parlance. The reality is that with every individual challenge you accomplish we're all winning a better conservative blogosphere and expanding the voice of the Right Roots statewide.
I would say "ready, set, blog" but that's really cheesy. Instead I'll just say "what are you waiting for?" and "happy blogging!"
The Means: What follows are a series of blog-centric activities you can do in your spare time today and every day. Most of them won't take five minutes of your time but when we add them up, across the Sphere, they'll make a world of difference.
If you don't have a blog yet, start one!
Make one original, feature length blog posting a day about something happening in your neighborhood, your House district, your county or statewide!
Cross-post one of your entries on RightMichigan each day. Make sure you include a link at the top of the column letting folks know where the column was originally posted (read: your site) to drive traffic back home.
Live-blog from your precinct or another local precinct during Tuesday's primary election.
Start a video-blog.
Vote on RightyBlogs and Blog Net News each day. It takes five minutes to go through the list of links and give 10s to the blogs you like and 0s to those you don't.
Challenge yourself to leave at least three comments after other blog posts in the sphere each day. They can be posts on RightMichigan or on any other Michigan based blog your heart desires.
Update your blogroll to include five new links to conservative Michigan blogs. There are just about one-hundred great options over on the right à (no pun intended) to get you started. Share the love!
Email at least twenty (or thirty, or a million) friends, family members, fellow parishioners, neighbors, work associates, fellow soccer moms, fellow NASCAR dads or anyone else you can think of to let them know about your blog and tell them about RightMichigan.com (and the fact you're a part of the blogging community)! Just slap all of the names in your CC or BCC field and send one email. Hopefully you agree that RightMichigan is a valuable resource. Trick is, your friends won't know about it if you don't tell them.
Post and hyperlink one of the RightMichigan.com buttons (coming soon) somewhere on your website.
Volunteer for the local party or a candidate of your choice. Today and tomorrow are primo opportunities for a little local activism. Find a conservative in your area and HELP!
