    Election Day Reports

I started this thread so posters here can mention their on the ground observations for today.

We have a lot of school elections (Brighton), tax measures (some areas), and a recall election (Hamburg) here in Livingston County.

VERY LOW turnout in Green Oak. I was number 34 at about 1PM. There were about 250 if you count all the absentees. That's still not much.

I took a drive around. Hamburg turnout seemed low (although higher than Green Oak) in all but one station where there was a lot of cars. Genoa Twp has low turnout (similar to Green Oak) as well.

Not a real good sign. Higher turnout is better for conservatives in Livingston County.

At my precinct I was told it's been "steady." About 10 cars as I parked. Several people were leaving, several coming in. As I left, one was heading inside.

I think I have figured out what to tell people who say they don't know who to vote for: Just say no, vote opposite of who the newspaper and the unions endorse. It's so easy ;)

Seriously, I think it's early yet and we'll be surprised with the turnout later...keeping the faith.

Seemed to be decent traffic (none / 0) (#2)

at our precinct..  nothing overwhelming, but for 2 school board sections, and a millage issue to pave a sandy hill.. not bad.

Congratulations to my Dad! (none / 0) (#4)

Great night for the 19th Senate district. After ten months of no representation in the Michigan Senate thanks to Granholms dithering we finally have a Senator. With some of the people that have filled that seat Mike Nofs is actualy the first Senator we have had in about six years.
Turnout was about average in our township in southern Calhoun county. Watching returns and vote counts from acrossed the county I would say turnout was average. Maybe a bit less then last November.
Congratulations to Senator elect Mike Nofs. Great job from the entire team.
