    Senate Bill 0466

You've gotta be kidding me. Republicans spearheaded this one, too?

It's one thing to not push the fact that if tax cuts/credits work for a few, they would work for all. However, it's another to push these credits and make them refundable.

I'm all for making Michigan an attractive place to do business, but picking and choosing corporations or industries to throw money at is not the way.  Granholm is guilty (see movie industry), and apparently Republicans are too.  For shame.

Even though state government creating alternate realities for their chosen corporations is disturbing in itself, it's especially upsetting considering that this is refundable - the state could actually be mailing a big check to Korea - and the state is looking at a massive $1.3 Billion dollar deficit.

Maybe Senator Kupiers knows something that we don't, but this seems like a bad thing to me.

Pretty sure the story behind this.. (none / 0) (#2)

is that the Korean Company actually has a product ready to go. And with GM looking for the new technology so they can roll out the new cars...

    It still smells bad.

    EHH! Wrong answer!
