Tag: "DELE-GATE"By Kevin Rex Heine, Section News
I have, my entire adult life, desired to accomplish one thing above all others. Beyond what normal men might find worth aspiring to, I have always wanted to win one when it really mattered. To just once be the guy it all rides on when it's on the line . . . and deliver the goods. To slay the dragon, save the world, and get the girl . . . film at eleven. To, for one moment in time, have my "A game" firing on all cylinders . . . and be utterly unstoppable.
However, God, in his wisdom, has heretofore seen fit to withhold from me such success . . . until last weekend.

In his book, "The Five Dysfunctions of a Team," Patrick Lencioni writes:
"If you could get all the people in an organization rowing in the same direction, you could dominate any industry, in any market, against any competition, at any time." . . . and holy cow, wouldn't we love to actually have a political party that could hand the Socialist-Democrats their jackasses on a plate with some reliability every election. But there's some work we're going to have to do first in order to get there.

So, since this thing that I broke the story on two days ago has managed to make it to the national news media, I took the time to sit down over my evening coffee last night and channeled my high school debate coach (the late Bayard Gum), specifically a few things he taught me about how to reach a logically-solid conclusion.

Certainly the credentials committees are ALWAYS straight up and honorable.
A predetermined candidate would have no problem with an integrity breakdown in Michigan politics. By golly OUR credentials committee would NEVER stoop to this miserable level of candidate manipulation, right? Right??? "This year, the Wisconsin GOP is on track for something like 2,000 delegates, which would be double the largest state convention. The majority of those are opposed to Tommy Thompson. Nah. Our guys have integrity. Character matters. (2 comments) Comments >> By Corinthian Scales, Section News

Two advisers to Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich say he will formally end is campaign next Tuesday and will likely endorse Mitt Romney. Parting question... Did anyone else wonder why Newt chose to keep Callista's Angry Bird mug by his side every moment of his campaign to remind ALL female voters that he never was able to keep his pecker in his pants as a married man? If we are to believe the drive-by media meme that's been in the political news cycle for the past week or so, we're already in the general campaign for the 2012 presidential election. Never mind that His Mittenness is still between 468 and 594 committed delegates short of the number needed in order to secure a pre-convention majority. Ignore the truths that Newt Gingrich is still in this race, and that Rick Santorum is still entitled to most of his delegate accumulation. Right now, as far as the mainstream press is concerned, all we republicans should be caring about is how much money Romney can raise in order to credibly challenge Obama and who he ought to select as his running mate.
Yet again, we need to go back to Yogi Berra . . . and then go below the fold.

Just under a month ago, when the Michigan "Dele-Gate" Fiasco was still something of a big deal, one of the founding mothers of the Michigan tea party movement decided to use my current place of employment as an excuse-of-convenience to challenge my credibility, and by extension my integrity. Because I do not permit such a challenge to go unanswered, I responded directly to her (though it never seems to have cleared the moderator's flag), as well as within Jason's post the following day (as one of the comments):
I don't know what any of y'all do or don't know about those in the sea services (Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard), but if you're going to challenge the integrity of such a person, then you'd better have proof-in-hand that the challenge is valid . . . otherwise it gets unpleasant in a hurry. That, by the way, applies to veterans of those services as well. As Nick DeLeeuw pointed out a few years ago, different "go" words apply in different cultures. I'm a retired sailor, so there're plenty of tags you can legitimately hang on me, many will be accurate, and not all will be kind. But to accuse a Sailor, Marine, or even a Coastie of being either a "thief" or a "liar" . . .

Anyone who looks at the date in the bottom left corner would immediately know we are looking at Saul Anuzis, Bobby Schostak, Sharon Wise, and Bill Runco, as the subjects described in the headline.
The joke, however, is on us. They aren't going anywhere. A month later, its as if nothing has happened. Bobby Schostak remains in a position of trust at the top of the MiGOP, Anuzis has started his reelection bid for the super-delegate spot, (committeeman) Sharon Wise is doing as she is told and continuing damage control, and who the heck knows who/what Bill Runco is doing? And some are beginning to ask why we pursue this. Their concern is over the damage done to the upcoming political contests pointed at those of us who are calling out the corrupt acts as we observe them. Why would we do this to the Republican party? Why would we undermine the very tool which is there to help elect Republicans to office? What gives us the right to be judge, jury, executioner? An answer: Wrong is wrong. We must self police. And since they are still here? At best we are simply the constable, or maybe a little bit of prosecutor. More below ~ (3 comments, 878 words in story) Full Story
