To help you figure things out, there is a Scoop Admin Guide which can hopefully answer most of your questions.

Some tips:

Most of the layout is changed in "Blocks", found in the admin tools menu
Features can be turned on and off, and configured, in "Site Controls" in the admin tools menu
Stories have an "edit" link right beside the "Full Story" link on an index page, and right beside the "Post a Comment" link on the full story page. They can also be edited by clicking the story title in the "Story List" admin tool
Boxes are what allow you to write new features for Scoop; they require a knowledge of the perl programming language to work with effectively, although you can often make small changes without knowing much perl. If you would like a feature added but cannot program it yourself, ScoopHost does custom Scoop programming as one of its services.
If you aren't sure where to look for a particular feature or piece of display, try the "Search Admin Tools" link in the admin tools menu.

2012 GOP Presidential Primary Race . . . Ames Aftermath

Promoted because I really want to let Bobby Schostak know its ok to smile.

I have written earlier that the republican 2012 presidential primary candidates' gallery was going to change considerably between then and the filing deadline for the February 2012 contests. (I think that November 8th, 2011, is going to be the filing deadline for the Iowa Caucuses.) Since mid-June, one exploratory candidate (Buddy Roemer) has officially entered the race, four candidates (Michele Bachman, Jon Huntsman, Thaddeus McCotter, and Rick Perry) have officially entered the race directly without bothering with an official exploratory committee, one officially declared candidate (Tim Pawlenty) has withdrawn, and Ralph Nader has claimed that President B. H. Obama is all-but-certain to be facing a credible primary challenge.

My, how things have changed.

2012 Republican Presidential Dance Card . . . Thus Far

It's often been said (including frequently on this site) that the real choice in any election is in the primaries. Once the primaries are over, you're essentially stuck with whoever survives. And in the quadrennial contest for the Republican nominee for the President of the United States, direct involvement in the primaries is going to be critical . . . there is no excuse for sitting on the sidelines and then carping because you don't like who wound up on the top of the ticket.

Of course, making an informed choice is always useful, and for that we should go below the fold.
