Americans for Prosperity - Michigan to Offer Flint-Area Drivers Gas at $1.84 Per Gallon, Monday
Gas promotion part of the group's Obama's Failing Agenda bus tour LANSING, MI - Americans for Prosperity-Michigan will offer Flint-area drivers gasoline at $1.84 per gallon* -- the cost of gas four years ago when President Obama took office. The promotion begins this Monday, October 1st, at 2:30 p.m., at the Beacon & Bridge gas station located at the Mt. Morris exit off I-75, just north of Flint. Scott Hagerstrom, state director of Americans for Prosperity-Michigan said "We want to remind people what the true cost of President Obama's failed green energy policies has been. President Obama has made it more expensive for Michigan families to drive to work, take our children to school and sporting events, and make trips to the grocery store."
WHO: Americans for Prosperity-Michigan Hagerstrom continued "The President claims to have an `all of the above' energy policy, yet his Administration has rescinded oil and gas leases and held up oil permits with bureaucratic red tape. Average retail gasoline prices have more than doubled under President Obama. That has caused Michiganders pain at the pump, but also increased the cost of consumer goods such as groceries." The Obama's Failing Agenda bus tour will educate Americans on the most harmful aspects of President Obama's big-government agenda, and help put grassroots pressure on politicians to turn away from these destructive policies. The stop in Flint will include educational information and a petition addressed to the President for citizens to complete. The Failing Agenda bus tour is an issue advocacy effort by Americans for Prosperity and does not expressly advocate for the success or defeat of any candidate for public office. More information is available at http://www.FailingAgenda.com Americans for Prosperity-Michigan is a statewide organization of 75,000 activists committed to strengthening our constitutional government, establishing fiscal restraint, and giving taxpayers greater control over government. We are dedicated to recruiting, training, educating and motivating grassroots activists to be effective in their own communities. Americans for Prosperity does not support or oppose candidates for public office. (12 comments) Comments >> By KG One, Section News
Don't you just hate it when the government tells you what health care services you can provide?
More specifically, where you can provide them and to whom you can provide them to? This isn't America's dystopian future under Obamacare. At least not yet, anyway. This is something a little more below the radar and closer to home. {Details under the fold}

Promoted for discussion ~
Pete Hoekstra's campaign has made the decision to spend the money necessary to purchase a Super Bowl ad to run in key Michigan media markets (Detroit, Flint, Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo, Marquette, Lansing, and Traverse City) just before kickoff in Indianapolis. Naturally, the Michigan Democrat Party is not pleased.

The deadbeats sitting in the taxpayer hammock for the past 10-15 years have been properly served.
The Michigan Department of Human Services (DHS) has reissued 11,162 notices to Family Independence Program (FIP) recipients who have reached their FIP cash assistance lifetime limits, in accordance with the ruling by U.S. District Judge Paul D. Borman on Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2011. The reissued notices cite the appropriate legal authority as well as more prominent language on the appeal process, as required in the ruling. Thanks for the added redundancy costs ya bunch of Looters. (3 comments) Comments >> By Corinthian Scales, Section News
You read it right, folks.
SAGINAW -- A Saginaw-based advocacy group for the poor has filed a federal lawsuit against the state Department of Human Services seeking to prevent more than 11,100 Michigan families from losing cash assistance under stricter enforcement of a 48-month limit on welfare benefits. Our tax dollars at work against us. (3 comments) Comments >> By JGillman, Section News
What the hell is going on in Flint?
With 50 murders this year alone, one wonders if Michiganders should even get anywhere near this war zone. And apparently NEAR is enough, is enough to get you hurt: Rison said today that she spoke to a woman in her 80s this weekend who told her about a stray bullet ending up in her home. Just shooting.. Oh, and before someone goes all crazy with a "guns are bad, m'kay" comment, let me point out the story is about calling in the Michigan Guard.. An ARMED force.. That uses GUNS.. To defend people.. People, who apparently are not armed enough to defend themselves.. Which wouldn't need to happen if law enforcement would do its job. The prosecutors office can claim that it has had it's budget cut, but deals with murderers do not exactly send a message that leads to less work for them later. more...
