    Welcome to Scoop!

To help you figure things out, there is a Scoop Admin Guide which can hopefully answer most of your questions.

    Some tips:

    • Most of the layout is changed in "Blocks", found in the admin tools menu
    • Features can be turned on and off, and configured, in "Site Controls" in the admin tools menu
    • Stories have an "edit" link right beside the "Full Story" link on an index page, and right beside the "Post a Comment" link on the full story page. They can also be edited by clicking the story title in the "Story List" admin tool
    • Boxes are what allow you to write new features for Scoop; they require a knowledge of the perl programming language to work with effectively, although you can often make small changes without knowing much perl. If you would like a feature added but cannot program it yourself, ScoopHost does custom Scoop programming as one of its services.
    • If you aren't sure where to look for a particular feature or piece of display, try the "Search Admin Tools" link in the admin tools menu.

    A Real Governor

The easy wimpy way to reward your crony friends well into this entire ACA debacle is to roll over play dead, and permit those buddies waiting in the wings to apply THEIR form of 'capitalism'.

    Right Governor Snyder?

With all due respect, it takes a little more substance to represent your state sir.  Especially when 26 states are ready to tell Obama where he can stick his health care.  They pretty much have already. And given the outcome of the upcoming electoral contests in the Senate, the Congress, and yes, the 'occupied' White house, its likely that doing anything to capitulate with the insanity would be a foolish endeavor we would have to roll back anyhow.

Why in the heck would we want to complicate things further?

Take a lesson from one of your counterparts.  Governor Rick Perry has kicked Obama's messenger, 300 style, into the abyss from which such laws emanate.

He pretty much told that gal to deliver a go-to-hell with the mandate, expansive overreach, and unconstitutional buggery of the american people with a letter delivered today.  A message for the man who was elected president in our nations fit of idiocy, who has shown himself to be incapable of recognizing cause and effect, misunderstands markets, and has no respect for what our founders shed blood for.

Read the letter below the fold.  Would that we Michiganders have such courage in our executive office.

    No NPV

Republican leadership in the United States house and the Senate and apparently Rick Perry have drafted a letter to the governors regarding popular vote.

The letter is very clear about the protections afforded smaller states with regard to the electoral college.  It also touches on the spawning of the recent movement trying to advance NPV. The letter is in support of the electoral college as it is.  In fact as it concludes:

"It Underscores the importance of federalism to the founders and it embodies the balance they aimed to achieve through deference to states with smaller populations and by insuring that the interest of these states be reflected in national decision-making."

Sorry Saul, and/or any others who wish to join with the progressive left on such a reckless abuse of our presidential selection process.

    Ain't gonna happen.

A Message To Our Legislators - Beware False Choices

    True Colors Flying

Many folks have been wondering why Rick Snyder won't openly debate the other Republican candidates for Governor.  Some say he does not yet want to be outed as the progressive shill he is.  Some say he is simply "trying to talk directly to the people" instead of participating in an establishment exercise.

    Believable?

Perhaps, as the there are enough potential true Republican Voters who are convinced enough to believe Rick Snyder is worthy of their support for the primary, much less an acknowledgment he is a Republican in the first place.  Something to take seriously when looking at a candidate who hopes to be the standard bearer of the Republican party of Michigan.  To be sure... the GOP can do far better than this RINO. (yeah.. I said it)

Am I being a little strong?

Rick Snyder was the first executive of the MEDC.  He was the pilot of the state of Michigan's voyage into taxpayer pockets with its corporate giveaway program.  These things don't happen by accident.  He does not get selected because he was standing around on a street corner whistling a pretty tune.  He lobbied for, and received the position of Chair of the MEDC at its inception.  Never mind whether it works, or whether the taxpayers even get a benefit out of it.  There is no question he knows the system quite well, because he BUILT IT.

But this isn't where it ends...  It only starts here.. For God's Sake.. please read on..
