    Welcome to Scoop!

To help you figure things out, there is a Scoop Admin Guide which can hopefully answer most of your questions.

    Some tips:

    • Most of the layout is changed in "Blocks", found in the admin tools menu
    • Features can be turned on and off, and configured, in "Site Controls" in the admin tools menu
    • Stories have an "edit" link right beside the "Full Story" link on an index page, and right beside the "Post a Comment" link on the full story page. They can also be edited by clicking the story title in the "Story List" admin tool
    • Boxes are what allow you to write new features for Scoop; they require a knowledge of the perl programming language to work with effectively, although you can often make small changes without knowing much perl. If you would like a feature added but cannot program it yourself, ScoopHost does custom Scoop programming as one of its services.
    • If you aren't sure where to look for a particular feature or piece of display, try the "Search Admin Tools" link in the admin tools menu.

My friend Denny, has an ongoing weekly selection of trophy winners.  Rightmichigan now has its first Officially declared trophy winner selection.  Unfortunately, in Michigan, it goes to someone allegedly on The Right who habitually demonstrates when a politician outlives his usefulness.

"I alienated some in the Jewish (community) when I called the speaker 'Adolf,' " Patterson wrote. "I was commenting on his leadership style. To those offended, I apologize."

Yes, let's steer the conversation as to "not offend" the Fiegers, and the Levins of Michigan, because you were, yet again, Above the Law.  Congratulations, Babbling Brooksie.  You are A$$hole Of The Week.

Ps. Brooksie, you're also reason #5,962.

A Message To Our Legislators - Beware False Choices

    Why Not Use Spoons, Governerd?

An upbeat Gov. Rick Snyder said Wednesday that there might be "shovels in the ground" for the New International Trade Crossing bridge project within two to six months.

But Ken Silfven, Snyder's deputy press secretary, later clarified, saying the governor was using "two to six months" as a metaphor for receiving the U.S. Presidential Permit needed for the project to proceed. Actual construction might begin in two to three years.

OK, by force of government, you got your bully pulpit way, Snyder.  Congratulations.  Thus, provides a perfect time for some much needed levity.

An American economist traveled to China to observe a canal project. The Chinese delegation showed him the plans and the model of everything that would be built along this new masterpiece. When they traveled out to the worksite, the economist was aghast at what he saw. The men were all using hand tools such as shovels, pick axes, and wheelbarrows.

The American economist asked the leader of the Chinese delegation, "Why on Earth are your people using hand tools? Why are there no bulldozers or other modern equipment?"

The leader of the delegation stood up straight and replied, "If we used that type of equipment, all of these men would lose their jobs in a couple of months."

The economist rubbed his chin in thought and then smiled, "Oh, it's a jobs program. Why don't you take away their shovels and give them spoons?"

The rest is worth your time.

Enjoy your Big Government, central planning Lansing, while it lasts, Ricky Snydholm.

The Bridge changed from a bridge owned by Michigan to a Canadian owned bridge! A Canadian Crossing Authority will own the bridge now, even the half in Michigan.

    Video.  More.

Birds of a Nationalizing feather, Gov. Ricky Snydholm.  Romney will love this.

No DRIC/NITC Transparency for 'We The People'?

It's yet another pretty sad day for the "DELE-GATE" tattered MI-GOP when even a slippery goonion labor propped up turd like Richardville is cut out of the loop by the Governerd.

    via The Detroit News

Despite a big grin on his face, Gov. Rick Snyder sidestepped questions Tuesday morning about a possible announcement this week on an agreement to build a new bridge to Canada.

Snyder fielded questions about the New International Trade Crossing after speaking at a transportation summit at the Motor City Casino in Detroit.

"There's supposed to be announcement on Friday? I hadn't heard that," teased Snyder. "All I will say is that I'm fully committed to building the NITC because of its importance to the economy of Michigan and Canada."

    Rest here

Bull. Sh!t!  It's more than obvious that this shady Canadian schemed Public Private Partnership, Chicom and NAFTA entwined goonion labor payola boondoggle Bridge deal being foisted upon U.S. taxpayers by the Governerd, Prince William Clay II, and LaHood just has to reek to high heaven.  Frankly, I'm not so sure anymore that if we all ended up with a Gov Bernero instead of the Ann Arbor Nerd, that 'ol Virg would've been as brazen and as slimy in this unnecessary bridge as Ricky Ardesta is.  As much as I hate to say it, even a lame-duck Jenny the now Wartless wasn't this devious and clandestine when pursuing it as the DRIC.

TEA movement folk, y'all might want to be seriously scouting for a Governerd primary challenger now.

Damage Control On The Chinese Steel

    via The Windsor Square

A New International Trade Crossing would not be built with Chinese steel and was never going to be built with Chinese steel, contrary to a Detroit News columnist's assertion to the contrary, said Canadian Consul General Roy NORTON today.

Norton said whoever tipped off Nolan FINLEY did not "know anything about Canada's procurement policies" and created what he called "not a well-founded story." Norton said Canada doesn't have a preference for Chinese steel and the competitive open bidding process will yield a product that will give taxpayers value. (MIRS June 5, 2012)

Oh man, what a mess. Someone opened up the Pandora's Box about Canada's complete control over the DRIC bridge based on the Letter of Intent of $550 million. After all, there are the secret Terms and Conditions that have never been revealed in that letter that had to be negotiated.  Note what the Consul General said "Canada's procurement policies."

When you supposedly provide all the money, then you can make all the rules. Michiganders finally have understood that. The issue became apparent over the use of the Chinese steel in the construction of the Bridge.

Of course, as I speculated, the real role that the Chinese will play is that they will be the P3 operator of the Bridge and will build, finance and maintain it over the next hundred years. It is an expanded role of that which they undertook in San Francisco. Naturally, that is required because no P3 proponents will ever finance the multibillion dollar DRIC boondoggle without Government guaranteed availability payments. Accordingly, the Chinese are prepared to step into the breach, provided of course that Chinese steel, labour and other materials are used. Or so they are leading everyone to believe at this stage.

    Rest here

    One term Nerd.
