    Welcome to Scoop!

To help you figure things out, there is a Scoop Admin Guide which can hopefully answer most of your questions.

    Some tips:

    • Most of the layout is changed in "Blocks", found in the admin tools menu
    • Features can be turned on and off, and configured, in "Site Controls" in the admin tools menu
    • Stories have an "edit" link right beside the "Full Story" link on an index page, and right beside the "Post a Comment" link on the full story page. They can also be edited by clicking the story title in the "Story List" admin tool
    • Boxes are what allow you to write new features for Scoop; they require a knowledge of the perl programming language to work with effectively, although you can often make small changes without knowing much perl. If you would like a feature added but cannot program it yourself, ScoopHost does custom Scoop programming as one of its services.
    • If you aren't sure where to look for a particular feature or piece of display, try the "Search Admin Tools" link in the admin tools menu.

Bill Schuette Calls For Special Prosecutor For IRS Investigation

This is what an attorney General for the state of Michigan does for its citizens.

No matter if targeting for liberal or conservative groups, protecting the people of the state of Michigan from the abuses of government is one of the AG's duties. Bill Schuette today announced he is calling for a real investigation:

" I do not believe that President Barack Obama's administration is capable of investigating itself. That is why I have called for the appointment of a Special Prosecutor to investigate the I.R.S.'s actions targeting certain non-profit groups simply because of their political beliefs.

Allowing the I.R.S. to act in this heavy-handed, un-American way will have a chilling effect on our very American principles of freedom of speech, assembly and participation in the public sphere.

A special prosecutor is necessary to ensure that an investigation is independent, and that it uncovers the full extent of I.R.S. activities.

If you know of an organization that believes it has been targeted by the I.R.S, please forward that information and all supporting material to my office in care of my Director of Public Affairs, Rusty Hills, at hillsr@michigan.gov so that we can provide this information to U.S. Representative Dave Camp, Chair of the House Ways and Means Committee, for his review.

    Right on Brother Bill!

    Thank you.

    Thursdays Cynosura: Senator Ted Cruz

I could not possibly agree more with Senator Cruz.  And, that's the problem.  The Sea of Red sent in 2010, has lost my trust.  Remember 4/10/2011: "By the way Neil, they're [House Republicans] 100% of the spending bills and taxing authority under the Constitution. They can stop whatever they want to stop."

Bonus: it's good to read that Priebus is backpedaling on his spineless reach across the aisle herd (ya, it's about as politico speak squishy as it gets without full omission of being complicit).  Nonetheless, Ted Cruz forced Reince to put those cards on the table - Cruz, like Reagan ultimately did, Eleventh Commandment be damned!

Miller - Resignation Of [IRS] Miller "Bare Minimum"

U.S. Representative Candice Miller (MI-10) yesterday commented on the resignation of the acting commissioner of the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), Steven Miller:
"The recent revelation that the IRS took steps to intentionally target a range of conservative groups is deeply disturbing, and the acceptance of the IRS acting commissioner's resignation today is the bare minimum that the President should accept.  Asking the Treasury Department to further investigate itself is not good enough.  The Administration must consider appointing an outside special counsel to make certain that those responsible are brought to justice.

"The American people will not stand for this blatant affront on free speech and harassment.  The truth must be brought forward, and the Congress will hold firm on bringing all those responsible to the forefront and ensure the proper protections are in place to protect each and every citizen's constitutional rights.  The American people must be able to trust their government, and in this case clearly there was abuse of power.  That cannot happen in America."

    Indeed.

There should be non-stop congressional hearings on ALL the activities this administration has been involved in.  The IRS is merely the tip of the proverbial iceberg. A special investigator should not have hands tied to merely THIS violation of first amendment rights, but should be encouraged to root out ALL the corruption Obama has cultivated during his term.

    And those roots run deep.

Tuesday Divertere - Pirro Sums It Up

Generally the front page won't see too much of the national news that has no Michigan ties.

However, Judge Jeanine Pirro in this clip puts the most appropriate perspective on the Benghazi affair that I have seen.  There are a lot of questions that need to be answered, and I'll stop short of total agreement with, or assigning motives to the administrations lack of action and its subsequent cover ups, but I recognize incompetence when I see it.  Only the most shallow butt kissing sycophant could not recognize this administration is in way over its head.

    Well done Judge.

    Low

Obama has formally destroyed what little dignity remained in the office of the president.

I really do not care what basketball players do on the court most often.  I REALLY don't wish to know what they do OFF the court either. The mental disease that demands you "look-at-me because I am still normal, and you best accept it" brought about another casualty in our fight to keep common sense and decency alive.

Today, the usurper in chief has further sullied the office that was once considered the leading seat of the free world. Stains on a blue dress be damned, nothing stands up as degrading the culture like celebration of deviant sexual proclivity by the nation's highest office holder:

"Obama called Collins "to express his support and said he was impressed by his courage," said White House spokesman Josh Earnest"
So sad how far down we have come in just a few decades of the worst progressivism mankind could possibly invent.

Next up, silver stars for courage in Bestiality.

    Don't doubt it.

    Survey Says!

We don't want an expansion of Medicare.

Some 65 percent of active Michigan voters believe Michigan should not expand Medicaid under Obamacare because taxpayers cannot rely on the federal government to pay its share of the increased costs that would come with adding new recipients, according to a survey conducted by the Mackinac Center for Public Policy and the Liberty Foundation of America.

Several legislators and the White House are pushing to expand Medicaid in Michigan with the promise that the federal government will pay 100 percent of the additional cost for new enrollees for three years, then decrease that through 2020 until the state budget becomes responsible for paying 10 percent of the cost.

And I have a bridge to sell you.  .. Or maybe our governor does?

Another 61 percent of respondents said it was a "convincing argument" not to expand Medicaid because it would "allow too many able-bodied young people to get insurance, even if they just chose not to work to provide for their own health care needs."

"Hardly a week goes by without new reports from Washington of Obamacare implementation glitches, delays and unanswered questions, indicating the law is still highly vulnerable," Senior Legislative Analyst Jack McHugh told Michigan Capitol Confidential. "In addition, there's abundant evidence that optional Medicaid expansion will impose much higher future costs on Michigan taxpayers than proponents acknowledge."

McHugh has written about this issue extensively, pointing out the budget trap that could befall Michigan taxpayers and the problems the state could face if it makes the wrong decision.

"The public senses these things and has logically concluded that the expansion simply doesn't make sense for Michigan at this time," McHugh added.

The Preezy of the United Steezy want's you to get your corrupt Wayne Co buffoon under control before he costs Debbie Dingell, a Senate election.  Remember Lon, Debbie and Bob King pulled a lot of strings to place you where you're at as MDP chair.

C'mon, a former Wayne Co Sheriff (1983-2000) needing multiple drivers under the guise of "personal protection"?  Hackel doesn't.  Really Ficano, exactly how dumb do you think everyone who is watching you could be?
