Traditionally, one might expect a monster post of whom we will want to win, which proposals are worth advancing, and all sorts of hyperbole to make the last minute points for readership.
I will try something different. I know most of the folks around here are like minded. Even the casual readers and wallflowers. We want, we desire, we covet a rule of law, fiscally prudent, and responsible government. Nothing would make us happier than getting rid of that man we identify as a blow torch on the constitution. Three judges; Markman, Zahra, Obrien would be far better than the type mentioned in the previous article. Perhaps a Senator with an IQ above 45 would best represent us. And the list of preferred results go on.
There is no doubt we will do our part to reach these outcomes. There is no question that we will vote our conscience. A simple prayer.

This morning there was a 911 service by the bay in Traverse City, Michigan. A piece of the twin towers, an "artifact" that is being managed by the local fire officials has found a home here, and was present for the ceremony.
This video is of the final minutes of the morning's event.

Take a minute. Just a minute, to offer thanks that we live in an area of the country that is relatively free of natural disasters of the type that hit Joplin Mo yesterday. We are fortunate and blessed.
As I watch the news accounts of the utter destruction, I am reminded of the bigger picture at work. One man's answer to Brian Williams' question "how is it you're alive?" as the wreckage of the man's house is shown: "Faith in God, its the only way." take a minute to offer a little prayer and hope for our brothers in another state not so far away tonight.
