Conservative activists and organizers from across the state of Michigan have had enough.
As promised, Governor Snyder will have to face the reality that the conservative base might well leave him to fend for himself as he repeatedly (and without remorse) promotes expansion of the ACA in Michigan. Joan Fabiano and Jen Kuznicki in an article and open letter to the Governor explain that Republicans should, and will not be casting their vote for him in the coming election. "It is with careful consideration that we decide on a course of action that is, in our view, politically problematic, but nonetheless a forthright answer to a governor who will not listen to his base: Conservatives should not help this Governor get reelected." This decision does not come easy, and the letter is signed as well by some of the most effective grassroots leaders in the state. Many are concerned that The 2014 Democrat candidate for governor is likely to take advantage of this, and they are correct. Thus another reason to fight for, and support the legislators who stand up for limited government intrusion into our lives; something clearly pointed out as part of the problem with the ACA by Fabiano and Kuznicki: 'Unsustainable consequences of the passing of the "Affordable" Care Act will leave millions without a job, and millions with cut hours and wages. Those consequences lead us to believe that expansion will overwhelm the system, rip off doctors, temporarily prop up hospitals, all leading to requests for more taxpayer funding on both the State and Federal levels. And all of this merely the tip of the iceberg.

Fair is fair. Yet fairness and a level playing field is NOT going to be the end result of this latest assault on the pocketbook and the ability of small business to operate with an online presence.
The burdens and additional paperwork small business will face if the internet sales tax is enacted might mean nothing to the Walmarts or other big box houses which have a nexus in each and every state. However, a small operation that does business on the internet and ALREADY faces a shipping obstacle the box houses can overcome with trucking logistics, will be forced into near impossible operating conditions. There might be other solutions, but no-one has come close to the right ones yet. There are some legislators that serve their (well funded) masters well.

If Republicans ever wish to regain any moral authority lost through Chamberlainesque capitulation with the leftists, then a health care exchange ought not be even considered.
Snyder wants the exchanges, apparently based on some funding that comes along with it. But the funding is only temporary, and the rules for an exchange set up as "local" will not be allowed to carry the rules that local (state) citizens might want. The default nature of a federal set of rules is in fact the reality NO MATTER who sets up the exchange. The expense of ongoing operations of course will fall on the backs of Michigan citizens. Tomorrow at 830AM there will be hearings. You may not be able to make it, but you can have your testimony entered into the record.

House Standing Committee Meeting Any Republicans Reps who vote for this have a problem on their hands. Since the re-election of Barack Obama, conservatives, and other Republican activists have had to redouble efforts in stopping the implementation of Obamacare. And as observed during a conference call tonight they will likely prevail. A brief discussion of hitting newly re-elected speaker Jase Bolger with a recall faded quickly, though it will not likely be forgotten by some. Bolger, who won by a narrow margin (roughly 800 votes) is being closely watched on the exchange issue and one other key issue close to the heart of traditionalists and conservatives; ALAC. (HB 4769) The controversy surrounding the Roy Schmidt party switch also haunting him adds fuel. If Bolger is seen on the wrong side of these issues by conservatives, and particularly the exchange, could be as damaging to the political careers of any reps who vote FOR the exchanges as a recall of Bolger might be. One only needs to look at a simple mailing sent out during the primary season to understand how any perceived supporter of Obamacare will be permanently labeled. (below)

Which will it be governor?
It took me a while, but I found something that had my interest piqued a couple of years ago when arguing the merits of leaving the DIBC as it is. The facts were not entirely scrubbed from the Detroit Chamber's site, and I wonder how well the travel numbers used to argue for a new bridge will stand up when health care choices are destroyed here as they are in Canada. "Hubbard pointed out to the committee that the Detroit/Windsor/Port Huron/Sarnia area is home to the busiest border crossing in North America in terms of volume of trade (more than $1 billion in goods crosses daily). Additionally, metro Detroit is home to major passenger vehicle traffic - between 3000 and 4000 Canadian health care workers entering the region every day."Incentive is a reality. Say NO to Obamacare. Michigan can be a part of the growing number of states nullifying it. (2 comments) Comments >> By KG One, Section News
Hey, Gang!
Guess which RINO just threw her support for another tax hike here in good old Macomb County? I'll give you three chances, but you'll only need one. So who is it? {Continued after the fold} (3 comments, 415 words in story) Full Story By JGillman, Section News
In a comment to a previous posting:
Even the president must have consent of the US senate before entering into a treaty. And if one looks at the Lefty cheerleading media, one might find cheerleading liberal democrats extolling the virtues of our one term potentate. There is nothing more exhilarating than allowing the socialist neighbors to put down a Michigan business that pays Michigan taxes, employs Michigan workers, and spends money in Michigan, right Rick? What did they pay you? Where are the accounts? Why the obsession with giving CANADA the upper hand? 2014, Nerd. Time to go. (29 comments) Comments >> By JGillman, Section News
Michigander Jen Kuznicki makes some great points during a critique of Dick Lugar's 'concession speech' last night.
"Rejectionist orthodoxyThis particular blog post drew the attention of none other than conservative radio host Mark Levin this morning, where he posted it on his fan page. H/T to Levin. Indeed. (4 comments) Comments >> By JGillman, Section News
$20,000 wasn't enough for the template of all RINOs to run as a Dem according to sources.
That was the amount reportedly offered to Schwarz for his campaign on their behalf. From M-Live Because his natural tendencies have always favored failure. And even though the story doesn't mention it, he may still run as an Independent. Something that ought to make the Democrats even happier if they stop to think about it. (1 comment) Comments >>
