  • Your New Scoop Site

    Welcome to Scoop!

To help you figure things out, there is a Scoop Admin Guide which can hopefully answer most of your questions.

    Some tips:

    • Most of the layout is changed in "Blocks", found in the admin tools menu
    • Features can be turned on and off, and configured, in "Site Controls" in the admin tools menu
    • Stories have an "edit" link right beside the "Full Story" link on an index page, and right beside the "Post a Comment" link on the full story page. They can also be edited by clicking the story title in the "Story List" admin tool
    • Boxes are what allow you to write new features for Scoop; they require a knowledge of the perl programming language to work with effectively, although you can often make small changes without knowing much perl. If you would like a feature added but cannot program it yourself, ScoopHost does custom Scoop programming as one of its services.
    • If you aren't sure where to look for a particular feature or piece of display, try the "Search Admin Tools" link in the admin tools menu.

For support, questions, and general help with Scoop, email support@scoophost.com

    ScoopHost.com is currently running Scoop version scoop-1_1-dev from 2006/08/26 20:02:04 .

One of the things that brought people back on a regular basis to Right Michigan was Nick's "Sphere" postings mixed in with the other musings and remarks about the ongoing political shenanigans in Michigan.  The reading list offers the blogs and their writers a little "RightMichigan" love, and helps the entire conservative and right of center community share traffic and insight.  Occasionally, I like tho throw in a few I have read.  Please feel free to post your own favorite Michigan related articles here as well.

Automaker Toyota has a problem as most are aware..  People who have experienced the acceleration issue claim the brakes do not work well enough to stop them.. The auto prophet may have an answer..

The Blog Prof has even more photos on the Snowman rally outside our state capitol..

Bottom Up Politics Blog reports on the Muskegon Tea Party Patriots.  There is no sign of the Tea Party movement stopping or letting up in Michigan.  Keep it up, and great work!

Jack Hoogendyk posts what is indeed A Great Essay About Waste in Government on Transportation..

If you've been following the Troy Special millage election (nearly 2 mil ..whew) There is some good news..

    What's up, team?

As many of you have noticed, I've been relatively incommunicado here at RightMichigan lately.  I've been here, reading, geeked by the interaction and the daily updates so many of you have been providing but I haven't been participating the way I used to.

Almost every single day for nearly three years I've blogged here on RightMichigan and I've loved (almost) every minute of it but over the last few months I slowly came to a realization... I've still got the "bug."

There are important things going on in this state and in this nation and as critical as blogging is, I'd started jonesing for a more all-engrossing, full-time experience... a chance to be a part of a team, doing big things on a professional stage to make Michigan the sort of state we all know she can be.

I stepped back, saw that RightMichigan was in great hands... YOUR hands... and eventually decided to take the plunge into a fantastic opportunity.

This week I began work in Lansing as the new Deputy Director of Communications for Attorney General Mike Cox.

My relationship with the AG goes back to 2002 when I interned on what remains THE surprise campaign of the last decade and I've been a big fan ever since.  It's rare in politics to find a candidate or a public official who doesn't just talk the talk but actually walks the walk.  Mike's one of the few.  And I'm proud to be a part of his team.

My fandom aside, I should note that RightMichigan is, was and will remain an open forum for everyone on the Right side of the political spectrum.  If you're worried that the site will start shilling for one primary candidate to the exclusion of everyone else... don't.

First of all, I'm going to work for the Attorney General, not the campaign. Second, press staff from the Bouchard, Cox and Hoekstra campaigns... heck, the candidates themselves, all remain welcome here on RightMichigan and have full posting privileges.

Most of all, I want to say "what's up" to each and every one of you who continue to make RightMichigan THE resource for conservatives in the Great Lakes State.  I may have been the face but this site's never been about me. It has ALWAYS been about you.  So don't go anywhere... heck... participate more often.

And if you're ever in Lansing, give me a shout!

Thanks again for everything you're doing.
