Tag: TEA Party Protest RallyBy Nick, Section News
Update [2009-4-15 16:41:23 by Nick]:As promised...
Update [2009-4-15 15:42:44 by Nick]:Michigan State Police are reporting that overhead shots indicate the crowd was between four and five THOUSAND people strong.
Folks showed up from across the state in droves to tell the politicians in Lansing and Washington, DC that enough is enough. Enough taxes. Enough spending. Enough growth to the deficit and the national debt.
![]() There wasn't a candidate to hock. There wasn't one specific piece of legislation to protest. This wasn't about unrest with the electoral process. This was an event that brought together Michiganders of every Party and political persuasion to express their frustration with the tax and spend status quo.
![]() Hopefully you had a chance to attend the event yourself, watch it live via UStream or attend one closer to home. Either way, take a gander at just a few of these pictures and you'll get a sense for the feel. And stay tuned. Working on getting some video cut that'll let attendees tell you in their own words why they made the trek.
