What a set-up to cover for Nansee. via The Detroit News
Former state Sen. Nancy Cassis said Friday she has filed enough petition signatures to get on the ballot for a special primary to fill the seat left vacant when U.S. Rep. Thaddeus McCotter resigned from Congress. The City of Livonia should be ashamed. David Curson who? Nice 'deal' with Brewer, Bobby. (9 comments) Comments >> By Kevin Rex Heine, Section News
You'd think that, after the shellacking that Saul Anuzis received a couple of months ago, the Michigan Republican Party would've got the hint that the grassroots in this here state isn't putting up with their crap anymore. Given that there's already a project underway to break the cycle of abusive behavior of state party leadership by replacing the corrupted party leadership (all the way down to the county party level, where necessary), you'd think that the elites would consider themselves on notice that getting their RINO asses in line is going to be the only way that they save their skins during the internal party elections that will be following the November general election.
Apparently, someone at MIGOP didn't get the memo.

Lt. Gov. Brian Calley on Tuesday called for a special election to fill the seat of U.S. Rep. Thaddeus McCotter, who resigned suddenly on Friday. Nice, eh? Mass confusion created for an establishment player's write-in campaign. (12 comments) Comments >> By Corinthian Scales, Section News

In a statement released late Friday, McCotter said "after nearly 26 years in elected office, this past nightmarish month and a half have, for the first time, severed the necessary harmony between the needs of my constituency and of my family. As this harmony is required to serve, its absence requires I leave. Thank God this toilet squatter wasn't around 236 years ago when the 56 signers were telling George III to go take a flying one, or we would still be ruled under England's king. Never trust a Fred Upton clan Moderate. Never. Ever. (6 comments) Comments >> By JGillman, Section News
LIVONIA, MI - Today, U.S. Representative Thaddeus McCotter took to his Facebook and Twitter account to release the following statement:
"Per inquiries, at year's end all of my remaining political funds will be donated to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital." Well played Mr McCotter. (1 comment) Comments >> By rightmich, Section News
McCotter Ends Write-In Campaign
U.S. Rep.'s Sole Focus Is Finishing His Term and Aiding His Requested Attorney General Probe June 2, 2012 "I have ended my write-in campaign in Michigan's 11th Congressional District," announced McCotter. "One can't clean up a mess multitasking. Honoring my promise to the sovereign people of our community only allows me to finish the official duties of my present Congressional term; and aid the State Attorney General criminal investigation that I requested into identifying the person or persons who concocted the fraudulent petitions that have cost me so dearly. "Honoring this promise does not allow me to continue a political write-in campaign. This decision is final, regardless of how swiftly the investigation is concluded." "To those who unhappy at this news, I'm sorry; to those happy at this news, you're welcome," McCotter concluded. (6 comments) Comments >> By Corinthian Scales, Section News
What an awesome development. Kerry Bentivolio (previously iCaucus endorsed), just may be the only Republican running in CD-11. Presidential primary washout and Romney water carrier, Thesaurus McModerate, appears to not have collected the necessary 1,000 valid signatures to be on August primary ballot.
The shocking development could keep the five-term Republican U.S. House member from running again if he cannot convince the Michigan Secretary of State's office that he collected more than 1,000 valid signatures. Whooot! My fingers are crossed. Please, feel free to visit Mr. Kerry Bentivolio's campaign website by clicking, here. (4 comments) Comments >> By Corinthian Scales, Section News
Thaddy Macs PAC funded book tour ends so now he endorses Romneybama.
Instead, he'll run again for the 11th Congressional District seat he's held since 2003. (8 comments) Comments >>
