  • Your New Scoop Site

    Welcome to Scoop!

To help you figure things out, there is a Scoop Admin Guide which can hopefully answer most of your questions.

    Some tips:

    • Most of the layout is changed in "Blocks", found in the admin tools menu
    • Features can be turned on and off, and configured, in "Site Controls" in the admin tools menu
    • Stories have an "edit" link right beside the "Full Story" link on an index page, and right beside the "Post a Comment" link on the full story page. They can also be edited by clicking the story title in the "Story List" admin tool
    • Boxes are what allow you to write new features for Scoop; they require a knowledge of the perl programming language to work with effectively, although you can often make small changes without knowing much perl. If you would like a feature added but cannot program it yourself, ScoopHost does custom Scoop programming as one of its services.
    • If you aren't sure where to look for a particular feature or piece of display, try the "Search Admin Tools" link in the admin tools menu.

Midweek, a lot more going on in Lansing than you might think based on the few posts locally.  Of course D Conservative has put a bit of work into his Redistricting analysis cross posted to us from The Western Right But who else is talking Michigan politics?

Start with Jack McHugh of the Mackinac Center, who thinks the DRIC discussion isn't one to embrace with Four Reasons Why the Tea Party Should Ignore Detroit Bridge Controversy

At the Bottoms Up Blog, there is a Tea Party Report from Oceana County's Sunday gathering.  Also a report and pictures from Saturday's affair in Lansing

K-12 School funding suffering at the hands of Snyder?  To give to 'higher education"? A Conservative Teacher thinks so.

Over at The Rougblog, the motor city described as a city governed by the delusional lives in a state of delusion

Traverse City Schools move a meeting to a never used time to avoid public input and objection. Bill at TCFamily.org thinks so as the LBGT agenda moves forward in Northern Michigan.

And if you didn't see the post over at MTTM, a Seriously Condescending Upton Man gets all smart alecky with a constituent.

If you know of any blogs not listed here that have to do with Michigan politics, then add them in the comments.
