Two weeks ago I asked everyone here to prayerfully consider putting a little bit of their dwindling disposable income where our collective mouth is and folks have really responded... (and that's saying something in this economy) but there's a little more work yet to do.A big THANK YOU to everyone who has already made a pledge to support my participation in the 2009 Alpha Women's Center Life Walk! We set a goal of raising $1,000 via the Right Roots to support the awesome work Alpha's doing. They provide free pregnancy testing and counseling, abortion alternative counseling, post abortion counseling, referrals for adoption and medical sercvices, help women and families secure housing, provide prenatal and postnatal parenting classes and make health presentations at schools and youth groups across the state. They're meeting needs in the community by loving (not judging) every single woman who comes through their door. This year the Right Roots have come through to the tune of $695. So far. That leaves only $305 until we reach that thousand dollar goal. $305 and five days to get there before I jump on the bike and pedal like a mad-man. And since I'm utterly and completely devoid of shame I'm going to ask again... would you consider making a pledge of $10, $25, $50 or even $100? As always, you can leave a comment after this post or email me at RightMichigan@gmail.com. Thank you all again. We've got an amazing team to come through the way you consistently do, and better than engaging and discussing and blogging and debating... you're helping save lives. Props. |
