After all...
We all know cash is king... Or maybe better stated, "FOR Kings.." Contributions to the coffers of political despots often encourages their favors, and the green is the grease of the political wheels. And Dingell, as well as Snyder got plenty of grease to go around. Fact of life.. Bring the king a gift for his pleasure and thou shalt have his dispensation. Snyder loves kings.. In fact he might well fancy himself the "Nerd King" in waiting.. Working his own royal treasury from the peasants, that consummate power player, Rick Snyder must have gifted well enough over time to warrant the investment of $7.5 Million in taxpayer funds to his own business venture; Ardesta. More below the fold.... (2 comments, 647 words in story) Full Story By YoungConservative, Section News

Lets all be non-politico shall we? My goodness, when the dust clears and we look at who crossed the finish line, certainly a fair race would mean a genuine win. Right? The Mackinac Republican Leadership Conference was certainly an important event to be sure, and particularly coming into the next BIG cycle of 2010 elections. Friendships reinforced, loyalties affirmed, and a chance for those who aren't yet recognized as legitimate players, to show their potential and perhaps win some support. A win for a relative unknown in the conference governor's "straw poll" would be considered a boost for that candidate. (14 comments, 454 words in story) Full Story By msurepublican, Section News
I've been following the recent conversation here about the straw poll on Mackinac Island I'm not sure I understand how people can be upset about Rick Snyder bringing volunteers to the island. I'm a MSU Republican who heard from several campaigns that were trying to recruit me to come to the island and offered to pay for my lodging and other expenses in exchange for voting for them. A friend of mine sent me exactly what Cox's campaign was going to pay for which you can clearly see here. I also picked up this letter from Secretary of State Terri Lynn Land asking for contributions to a fund that was paying for volunteers to go up to the island. I'm sure that voting for Bouchard was a part of their requirements. So it's clear that Rick wasn't the only candidate paying for volunteers to attend.
And as to the video, the person who was interviewed actually did an interview with Michigan Public Radio Network that explained exactly why he was supporting Rick - because of his background in business - on the island and he posted this response.
By the way, It'll be interesting to see if Right Michigan moves something that shows Cox and Bouchard were trying to buy the poll too to the front page or if they're only trying to go after Rick's campaign. From my perspective, Rick's campaign did nothing differently than the other campaigns other than recruit more supporters and run a more effective operation.
Read these materials from the other campaigns, and decide for yourself if the pots are calling the kettle black.

Promoted by Jgillman - because it MUST be seen..
With supporters from paid volunteers, Rick Snyder bought the straw poll. It's really sad.

Andy Dillon (R-Redford Township)? In the latter half of this year, it certainly might seem like that is the case. The speaker railroaded members and supporters of his own party by introducing a health care plan that the Democratic allied, Michigan Education Association wasted no time in slamming and that Michigan Democrats all the way up to the top of the administration are "concerned" about.
Then, before the smoke had even finished clearing from the left-leaning Lansing Civil War, Dillon was at it again last week blasting the governor's long-awaited balanced budget proposal saying it had "no chance of passing" and that the governor should know better than to "showboat". Since initially lashing out at the administration, Dillon has seemingly realized that he went a little too far and has significantly backed-off (18.25 mark) from his original statement (READ MORE). I just received Rick Snyder's email message.
For the governor candidate with the most staff and biggest operation, he really should find someone more clever to write his emails. (2 comments, 294 words in story) Full Story By DelPBaker, Section News
I've been around a whitle and I'm confident that Rick Snyder is the candidate we need, both for our party and for our state.
